Permanent Pictorial Cancellation - Mamallapuram

Mamallapuram also known as Mahabalipuram is in Kancheepuram district 60Km south from Chennai.  This 7th Century historical town is famous for its sea shore temple and monolithic rock cut temples. his monument has been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site

The Permanent Pictorial cancellation is a kind of defacing the stamp, which shows replica design or a picture of a tourist, religious, historical or an important place.

India Post has introduced a permanent pictorial cancellation on 01.01.1965 depicting the Seashore Temple.  I got two variations of this cancellation on my recent visit.
