Reef Safari - 3D Lenticular Miniature sheet
One of the World's greatest natural wonders "Great Barrier Reef" was depicted in the Australia's Stamp collecting month issue as this year has been declared the International Year of the Reef. The "Reef Safari" stamps were issued by Australia post on 1st of August 2018. Great Barrier Reef is situated off the Eastern Coast of Australia. This is the largest coral reef system in the world and it is listed in UNESCO WHS in 1981. It is sad that the climate change is playing spoiling sport that the Great Barrier Reef was affected by Global warming largely.
The Sea creatures depicted on the stamps are,
AUD 1 - Nautilus
AUD 1 - Green Sea Turtle
AUD 1 - Olive Sea Snake
AUD 1 - Emperor Angelfish
AUD 2 - Grey Reef Shark
To add beauty to the sheet it was produced using lenticular printing too which creates an illusion of depth as the image is viewed from different angles. My scanner is not doing justice to the miniature sheet, when I find some time I will post the video of the Miniature sheet.
This 3D miniature sheet is a great addition to my Odd and Unusual Stamps collection.
